I am bringing you this Immune Boosting Juice recipe because the flu epidemic is out of control!! There are 5 schools in my area that have been closed because that many people have the flu 😣 Times like these are the MOST important time to feed your body plant based foods. Eat your fruits and veggies, friends!
This juice only has 5 ingredients and each of them have substantial health benefits. This juice would be great to have everyday during this season of so much sickness. Here are some of the ingredients nutrition highlights:
Green apple: Apples contain significant amounts of antioxidants and flavonoids. They contain vitamins C, K and B6 along with the minerals potassium and magnesium. They are known to help prevent inflammation and help with digestive health.
Carrot: Carrots are high in the antioxidant beta carotene which helps improve immunity, fights free radical damage, and helps protect the health of your skin and eyes. They contain high amounts of vitamin A, as well as vitamins C, D, E and K. They also have minerals including magnesium, potassium and calcium.
Ginger: Ginger is very high in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents. It is commonly used to improve digestion and to relieve pain and nausea symptoms. It is also known for helping fight and prevent infections, cancer, diabetes, high cholesterol, ulcers and arthritis.
Lemon: Lemons contain vitamins C, vitamin B6, potassium and iron. Lemons help enhance immunity, increase iron absorption, improve skin health and promote heart health.
Cayenne pepper: Cayenne Pepper contains vitamins A, E, C, B6, and K along with manganese and potassium. A few of its many health benefits are that it helps aid digestion, provides detoxification support, increases metabolism, and fights the common cold and flu.

- 4 large carrots
- 2 green apples
- 1 lemon, peeled
- 1 knob of ginger (about 1 inch long)
- 1-3 dashes cayenne pepper (to taste)
- To make with a juicer: juice the carrot, apple, lemon, and ginger. To make without a juicer: place the carrot, apple, lemon and ginger in blender with about ¼ cup water to get it moving. Once smooth, place in a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and press down with a spatula. Let sit for about 5 minutes to get all of the juice out.
- Stir in the cayenne pepper one dash at a time, stopping when it is strong enough for you.
