What is Cashew Cream?
Cashew cream is a creamy sauce/spread made out of cashews, water and flavoring. In the non-dairy world, cashews are our cows. They produce deliciously rich milk, cream, and “cheeses.” Depending on what type of flavor you want depends what you add to it. For a sweet flavor you can add a sweetener and vanilla and for a savory taste you can add salt with some spices. Cashew cream can be used as a dip for fruits and vegetables, as a spread on toast, on sandwiches, as a sauce on pasta, and the list goes on!
How to Make Cashew Cream
To make cashew cream, you need cashews that have been either soaked or boiled. For soaking, you will need to let your cashews sit in water for at least 6 hours. Many people let them soak in the fridge overnight. The other option is to let your cashews boil on the stove for about 8 minutes, until soft and easily broken apart and pierced with a fork.
Once you have your cashews ready, you will blend them on low in a high speed blender with your water. Blend them for about 2 minutes or until the mixture is creamy. If any of the cashews get on the side, scrape them back down and blend until all of the cashews are creamed into the mixture. Next, add your spices and flavorings and blend for another minute. Next step: enjoy!!
The Savory Cashew Cream we are making today is full of flavor and great with foods that are more salty, like with vegetables or on a burger.

Xo,
Christine
- 1 cup cashews, soaked
- ½ cup water
- 1 tsp white wine
- 2 Tbsp Nutritional yeast seasoning
- ¼ tsp Garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- Heaping ¼ tsp Salt
- Dash of Pepper
- Soak cashews in water for at least 6 hours or boil in water for 8 minutes.
- Add soaked cashews, water, and white wine to high speed blender and blend on low to medium speed for 1-2 minutes until creamy. If you blend too quickly the cashews will fly around and get stuck on the side of blender. If this happens, scrape down the sides and blend again.
- Next, add spices and blend another minute until combined.
- Enjoy 🙂
